This article reviews how to:
Admins and contributors with “create folder” permission can create folders. (You can ask your Webdam admin if you’re unsure about your permissions.)
- Log in to Webdam.
- Click Home to add a top-level (parent) folder or click a folder to add a nested (child) folder. Folders nested under a parent folder must all have unique names.
- Click the icon on the actions toolbar.
- Enter the folder name.
- Configure the folder settings.
- Watermark assets in this folder: When enabled, assets in this folder will display a watermark in Webdam.
- If assets already exist in the folder, you’ll need to recreate the thumbnail in order for them to display (Read more about recreating thumbnails).
- Receive notification of downloads: When enabled, the admin email notification address configured in the System Preferences will receive a notification of asset downloads. This setting can also be enabled at the global level in the System Preferences.
- Enable download requests: When enabled and a group’s download permissions for this folder are set to Do not allow, users can request access to download assets.
- This setting can also be enabled at the global level in the System Preferences.
- Send download requests to: The email address where download requests should be routed. We recommend that the recipient be an admin or contributor.
- Apply Metadata Template: Click the dropdown to apply a metadata template to this folder. (Read more about metadata templates.)
- Apply settings to all nested folders: Check this box to apply any edited options to nested (children) folders.
- Click Save.
Admins and contributors with “edit folder” access can edit folders. (You can ask your Webdam admin if you’re unsure about your permissions.)
- Log in to Webdam and click the folder you want to edit.
- Click the icon in the actions toolbar or folder details panel and select Edit.
- Rename or edit the folder settings (see above for details).
- Click Save.
Admins and contributors with “move” permission can move folders. (You can ask your Webdam admin if you’re unsure about your permissions.)
- Log in to Webdam and click the folder(s) you want to move. (For multiple folders, hold down the Ctrl key on a PC or the command key on a Mac.)
- Drag the folder to the desired folder in the folder tree on the left.
- A icon will display if the folder can be moved to the folder.
- A icon will display if the folder cannot be moved.
- Once the move is complete, a green message will appear.
- If you do not have the appropriate permissions to move the folder, the red message will display. Contact your Webdam admin with permission questions.
Admins and contributors with “edit folder” access can delete folders. (You can ask your Webdam admin if you’re unsure about your permissions.)
- Log in to Webdam and click the folder(s) you want to delete. (For multiple folders, hold down the Ctrl key on a PC or the command key on a Mac.)
- Click the icon in the actions toolbar or folder details panel and select Delete.
- Click Delete to confirm.
If you have selected a folder that contains nested folders, the nested folders will be deleted as well.

I have permissions to create and edit folders, but no option to delete a folder. I can delete files, but not folders.
How do we download a folder and its contents? I have full admin access and see all of the other options. According to the help database, it was a feature close to completion as of 2018 but that was the last update I found.
