You can share assets with other users by emailing a link or download of the asset or sending it via Box or Dropbox.
This article reviews the following topics:
- Email a link
- Email a download
- Copy and Paste Download Links
- Share multiple assets
Email a Link:
Users with view permission can email a link to an asset to other users. The recipient will need to log in to access the asset, so they’ll need to be a Webdam user.
- Log into Webdam and select the asset(s) you want to share.
- Click in the actions toolbar of the asset details page and select Email link.
- Enter the email address of the recipient. If you are sending to multiple recipients, separate the emails with a comma.
- Complete the form with an optional subject and message.
- Click Send.
Email a Download:
Users with download permission can email a download of that asset to other users. The recipient does not need to be a Webdam user, however they will only be able to download the asset for a set amount of time.
- Log into Webdam and select the asset(s) you want to share.
- Click in the actions toolbar of the asset details page and select Email download.
- Enter in the email address of the recipient. If you are sending to multiple recipients, separate the emails with a comma.
- Enter in a subject and message (optional), set the download expiration (how long the user has to download the asset) and designate the download size.
- Click Send.
You can also quickly copy a download link to your clipboard for quick insertion into a message or email. These links are able to be accessed for up to 72 hours.
- Double click the asset you'd like to share to pull up the asset details page.
- Click the sharing options icon and select Download Link. A banner will appear along the bottom border of the asset details panel confirming the link has been copied to your clipboard.
Share multiple assets:
Add the assets you want to share to a Lightbox, then follow the instructions above to email a link to the lightbox or download of the assets. (Read more about lightboxes.)

Cannot believe this is not fixed yet, even though I submitted a request years ago. Email notification to recipient will always say "...would like you to see an *image* at...", regardless of what file type is being shared (in the last case from today, a video).
Folks, either manage the minimal requirement for the system to correctly identify the file that is shared (image, video, sound clip, document) or change the nomenclature to "file" or "asset"
