Box Integration (Cloud Sharing)

The Box Integration makes it easy to move files back and forth between Webdam and Box. You can use it to quickly centralize assets stored in various personal or professional Box accounts and distribute files to people who don’t have access to your DAM.

This integration is available to admin, contributor and regular users with download and/or upload permissions. You can transfer assets up to 4.99GB per file. For assets larger than 5.0GB use FTP.  Only an Admin in the account can activate this feature.

Enable the Box integration (admins):

• Click  in the top navigation and select System Preferences.  
  
  
• In the Cloud Sharing Settings section, click the Cloud sharing channels box and choose Box.
  
  
• Click Save.

Send assets to Box:

Users with download access can start sending assets to Box once the admin has enabled the integration:

• Log into Webdam.
  
  
• Click an asset to get to the asset details page, then click  in the actions toolbar and select Box from the dropdown menu.

• The first time you send an asset to Box, you'll need to click Add Integration.

• Log in with your Box credentials. 

• In the pop-up, create a new Box folder or choose an existing one.
  
  
• Click Send – the file go to the selected folder. 

You can use a a lightbox to send multiple assets to Box at once:

• Add the assets you would like to send to a lightbox.
  
  
• Click  in the actions toolbar and select Box from the dropdown menu.
  
  
• In the pop-up, create a new Box folder or choose an existing one.
  
  
• Click Send – the files will go to the selected folder. 
  
  

Send Box assets to Webdam:

To send assets and/or folders from Box to Webdam, you'll need to have upload permission in Webdam.

• Log into your Box account.
• Go to https://app.box.com/apps and search for Webdam.
• Select the Webdam app and add it to your account.
• From the main page of your Box account, click  next to the folder or asset you want to send and select More Actions > Send file to Webdam.
• You will initially need to enter your Webdam credentials.
• Choose the folder to send to. The asset you will be queued for import.

Note: The newly uploaded files will appear in the folder as Asset Processing while the preview thumbnail is generating.
