You'll have to manually update the asset in Marketing Cloud instead.

Video

Following email best practices it's not possible to add an actual video file to an email, since this would make the email size unnecessarily big and cause delivery issues. The connector will provide you with the links to the original video file and the available video derivatives. You can use these links to put the video behind a button in your email or to create another call to action.

  1. Select the video you want to add and click Insert. You'll get to see a popup with the links to the original video and the available video derivatives.
  2. Click the button to copy the URL and use the link to put the video behind a button or another call to action.

Documents

Following email best practices it's not possible to add an actual document file to an email, since this would make the email size unnecessarily big and potentially cause delivery issues. The connector will provide you with a link to the original document file. You can use this link to put the document behind a button in your email or to create another call to action.

  1. Select the document you want to add and click Insert. You'll get to see a popup with a link to the original document.
  2. Click the button to copy the URL and use the link to put the document behind a button or another call to action.

How to Add Webdam Assets to a Custom Content Block?

You can use Content Blocks to create reusable modular content for messages in Marketing Cloud. If a general Webdam Content Block has been set up for your Marketing Cloud environment you can create your own Content Blocks and enrich them with Webdam assets. You can then easily reuse these blocks for content creation in Marketing Cloud without having to manually add the asset each time.

Do you add the same assets, such as your brand logo, to each email you send out using Marketing Cloud? Save yourself some time and automate this process by making sure these assets are stored in your Webdam portal.

You can then create a Webdam Content Block and add your asset to it. This block can be reused in each communication you send out using Marketing Cloud. This will save you the time of having to manually search and add the same asset time after time. At the same time you don't have to worry about not using the latest version of the file. The moment the asset gets updated in Webdam the change will be automatically reflected in your Content Block.

Note
When you've cropped or resized your Webdam asset in Salesforce Marketing Cloud it has been saved in the SFMC library. This means that when you add another version to that asset in Webdam or when you change the version of that asset within Webdam the update won't be automatically reflected in your Content Block. You'll have to manually update the asset in Marketing Cloud instead.
  1. Log in to your Marketing Cloud environment.
  2. Click the Content Builder button and click Content Builder in the dropdown that appears.
  3. Click the Create > Content Blocks > Webdam to create a new block with a Webdam asset.
    Note
Depending on your setup the name of the Webdam block may vary.
